Setting Up and the Vetspire Connection

You can use this connection to pull appointments from your Vetspire calendar into CoVet.

 

Important Update: At this time, the Vetspire connection does not support exporting medical records back to Vetspire. This connection can be used to import appointments from Vetspire into CoVet.


1. Navigate to Connections from the My Account page

Click on your name in the top navigation to open the My Account page. Once there, select Integration/Connections from the available menu options to proceed.


2. Select and configure the Vetspire connection

Click the Connect button located under the Vetspire tile. 


3. Review the steps for the connection process

The next screen will clarify the steps needed to set up a connection with CoVet. Please review these steps and the links to any limitations with this Practice Management Software:

4. Configure Vetspire Connection 

In this screen, follow the steps to connect Vetspire with your CoVet account. Add in the Location ID and API Key from Vetspire. The Location ID can be found in Vetspire by going to More > Admin > Locations. Your API Key can be found in More > Admin > Integrations > API Keys.

The person setting up the Vetspire / CoVet connection needs specific Admin Permissions within Vetspire.


As a result, you may want to consider having a practice manager or team leader set up this connection for your entire team. 


Specifically, a permission called "Manage API keys and associated API users" is required to complete the set-up process. You can find out more about Vetspire Admin Permissions here.


5. Match your CoVet Account Names to the Vetspire Users

In the next two screens, confirm if you are setting up for your team (recommended) and match up the members of your Team on CoVet with how they appear in Vetspire. 

6. Review how imported appointments will appear

On the next screens, you can review how the names of your appointments from Vetspire will appear when they are imported into CoVet. The first screen lets you review the case names with previews of some connected appointments. You can edit the case naming format by clicking Edit.

7. Complete setup and start using the Vetspire connection

After previewing your sample export, you will receive a confirmation message indicating that the setup is complete. At this point, your Vetspire connection is ready to use.
