How Can I Organize My Templates?

Modified on Thu, 19 Jun at 1:20 PM

There are multiple tools to help you organize your templates so you can quickly find the ones you need.

Organizing Your Templates in CoVet

CoVet offers a flexible template library to generate various document types. To make the most of this powerful system and streamline your workflow, it's beneficial to organize your templates. This guide will show you how to manage your templates effectively, especially for utilizing CoVet's quick generate buttons.

Why Organize Your Templates?

Organizing your templates allows you to:

  • Utilize quick generate buttons:
    • One button can generate all three of your favourite templates simultaneously.
    • Another button generates your single default template.
  • Browse efficiently: When browsing the entire library, you can easily filter and view subsets of your templates.

How to Organize Your Templates

To organize your templates, we recommend using a web browser for easier navigation on a larger screen, though it's also possible in the mobile app.

  1. Go to the Template Page: Navigate to the "Template page" within CoVet.

  2. Understand Template Categories: You'll see templates organized in a few ways:

    • By document type: Medical records, summary documents, email/communication documents.
    • By template type: Custom templates, advanced templates (with interactive interfaces), and standard templates.
    • The organizational tools described below work uniformly across all template types and tabs.
  3. Favourite/Unfavorite Templates:

    • This is a key organizational tool. You can easily favorite or unfavorite a template directly from the list.
    • Once favorited, you can switch the list view to "Favorite templates" to quickly narrow down your selection. This favoured selection will be remembered as you browse other tabs.
  4. Hide Unused Templates:

    • To further declutter your view, you can hide templates you are not currently using.
    • Select the templates you wish to hide.
    • Then, switch your view from "All templates" to "Visible templates". The hidden templates will no longer appear in your main list.
    • Don't worry, hidden templates are still discoverable if you ever need them again; CoVet leaves a small "trail of breadcrumbs" to find them.

Additional Sorting and Filtering Options

Beyond favouriting and hiding, CoVet provides other sorting and filtering tools:

  • Sorting Options: Sort your templates alphabetically or by default order.
  • Filtering Options: Filter templates by type, collection, or tags.

By utilizing these organizational features, most veterinarians find they can streamline their template library to a manageable four to six frequently used templates, making their daily workflow more efficient.
