IDEXX Lab Data Summary helps you review a patient’s IDEXX lab history in CoVet and generate a structured summary in the case.
Once IDEXX is connected, you can search lab results from any case and choose the correct patient. CoVet then generates a structured summary that you can review and add to the case.
Connect and Set Up IDEXX
Your team owner or admin connects IDEXX from Settings > Other Integration and Connections.
You can use your VetConnect Plus account credentials to authenticate and connect within CoVet.
During setup, the connection is confirmed and turned on for the team. Once it is enabled, team members can generate IDEXX lab summaries inside a case.
You can disconnect IDEXX at any time from Settings.
Search IDEXX Lab Results in a Case
You can search IDEXX lab results in any case.
To open lab search:
Open the case.
Click More Tools.
Select the IDEXX lab summary option.
From there, you can:
Filter results by date range, with the default set to the last 30 days
Choose a patient from the patient picker
Search and sort patients by most recent or alphabetical order
CoVet may also suggest patients based on recent results.
Choose the Correct Patient
If no IDEXX patient is linked to the case yet, you’ll choose the patient before generating a summary.
Once you select a patient, CoVet stores that mapping for the case. On return visits, CoVet skips the patient picker and loads the saved IDEXX patient for that case.
If the wrong patient was selected, you can replace the mapping.
Generate an IDEXX lab summary
After you select a patient, CoVet can generate a structured summary for the case.
Each summary includes:
An At a glance section with two to five key findings
Findings organized by organ system, such as renal, hepatic, hematologic, and endocrine
Priority levels for each finding: Severe, Moderate, and Normal
Analysis across multiple dates, including whether results are worsening, improving, or stable
Summaries are cached so they do not need to be regenerated each time. If needed, you can force-refresh the summary.
The summary uses your preferred CoVet model settings.
Add the summary to the case
Once generated, the summary can be added to the case as editable text.
You can also include this content in PDFs from the case.
Lab summary content is marked as medical information.

The default search range is the last 30 days
Selected IDEXX patients are mapped to the case for return visits
Generated summaries can be added to the case as editable text
This summary is based on the patient’s available IDEXX lab history. It does not include non-IDEXX lab results
