Important Note: On Google Chrome, please add CoVet to your list of sites to keep active. Go to your Chrome Settings > Performance > General > "Always keep these sites active" and add app.co.vet.
Always prefer to use Chrome browser, as it has better support for audio recordings.
Chromebooks and Amazon tablets currently do not have Apps available and should use a Chrome browser to access CoVet. These devices usually have less hardware to support long recordings, as they might run out of memory, which can affect the reliability of the recording. Please avoid using other apps while recording a case, but if possible, we recommend using alternative devices.
Microsoft tablets: The web app is not as stable as on Desktop, but we hope to publish a Microsoft Store app soon.
Storage and Networks
The CoVet App size is about 120 MB.
Storage guidance:
The app itself is small. Temporary storage is driven by recordings and uploaded files
Typical audio sizes
30 minutes at 64 kbps AAC is ~15 MB
30 minutes at 256 kbps AAC is ~60 MB
Plan for 500+ MB free per device to comfortably buffer a week of recordings and attachments. CoVet uploads in the background and will delete local copies after processing.
Network guidance:
Minimum: 5 Mbps upload and 10 Mbps download per device
Recommended: 20 Mbps upload and 50 Mbps download for fast sync
Keep Wi-Fi where consults happen. If rooms are noisy, consider a wired or quality USB-C mic
