Applying Your Edits to Other Documents in a Case

Carry a correction from one generated document over to the rest of the case, and see exactly what was edited before you apply it.

Make a correction once in a generated document, then carry it over to the other documents in the same case. Use Sync changes when you or a colleague have fixed an error in one document and want the rest of the case to match.

Why edits in one document do not carry over

When you review a generated document, you fix what needs fixing: a medication the audio did not catch, or a pet's name spelled wrong.

When you or a colleague generate another document in the same case, those edits do not carry over. The error can slip through, or someone has to make the same edits again.

Sync changes solves this by letting you apply the edits from one document to the other documents in the case.

How to sync your edits to other documents in a case

  1. Review a generated document and make your edits as usual.

  2. On another document in the case, open the three-dot menu at the top, next to Detail, and select Sync changes.

  3. CoVet compares the documents in the case and shows you what was edited.

  4. Choose whether to apply those changes to the other documents in the case.

You decide whether the changes are applied. Nothing changes in the other documents until you choose to apply them.

Seeing what was edited, even by a colleague

Sync changes shows you exactly what changed, even if a colleague made the edit or you made it hours ago.

The Sync content changes window over a Visit / Discharge Summary, showing a medication dose changed from 100 to 120 mg in red and green, with Cancel and Apply Changes buttons

This matters most for details like a medication name, where a correction missed in one document can leave the wrong detail in the rest of the case.

Stopping the error from coming back in future documents

Sync changes applies your edits to documents that are already in the case. To stop the same error appearing in documents you generate later, correct the source: edit the transcript or input CoVet generates from.

Tip: If the same term is misspelled again and again, such as a drug name, add it to your dictionary. See Correcting Repeated Spelling Errors in Records.
