The Case Page is your home base in CoVet. It’s where you record a visit, review details, generate documents, and manage follow-ups like tasks and billing items.
This article shows you where to find the main tools on the redesigned Case Page, especially recording and document generation.
Used CoVet before September 2026? Open the interactive Case Page guide to see where everything moved, then come back here for the details.
One Case Page for Every User
The redesigned Case Page is now the only Case Page in CoVet, for new and existing users alike. You no longer need to turn anything on to use it.
The previous Case Page and its separate recording page are no longer available.
The option to switch between the previous and the redesigned Case Page has been removed from your profile and settings.
Saved links or bookmarks to a case or recording page from the previous version open that case on the redesigned Case Page.
Note: Older versions of the mobile app show the previous Case Page. Update the CoVet app to the latest version to use the redesigned Case Page.
Getting Started on the Redesigned Case Page
When you open a case, you'll notice:
A cleaner layout with fewer competing sections
Case name and date selector at the top of the page
Document generation actions moved to the top of the page
The To-Do area reorganized into Tasks and Checklists
An updated phone call icon
Finding and Organizing Your Cases
The updated Cases page is designed to help you stay organized and on top of your daily tasks by focusing on the most important cases.
On the Cases page, you can find and organize cases using several options:
Date: Use the calendar to select a date, or switch between Today's Cases and All Cases.
Filters: Select No Outputs to find cases without generated documents, or Archived to find archived cases.
Sort: Organize cases by Case Date, Case Name, or Last Edited.
Team: Switch between Myself and My Team, or filter team cases by doctor.
Search: Use the search bar in Case name or Smart search mode to find cases.
View: Switch between tile and list views.
Can't find a case? Check the selected date, clear any active filters, and make sure you're viewing the correct doctor's cases.
Starting a Recording
Recording is often the first step in your workflow. To get started:
Open the Case Page
Click the large Record button
Use the Pause and Stop controls as needed
After you stop recording, a blue banner appears with a suggested next step (for example, generating a document).
Tip: Select the floating player icon beside the recorder to open a small recording window that stays visible while you work in another browser tab or desktop application.
From there, you can pause, resume, and check the recording time.
You can stop the floating player from opening on its own:
Open Audio Settings (the gear icon at the start of the recording bar).
Turn off Auto-open floating player on tab switch.
Select Save. The change applies to all cases.
When a Colleague Is Recording the Same Case
On a case shared with your team, the Record & Generate widget shows you when someone else is recording that case, so you can see before you press Record that the consult is already being captured.
One colleague recording shows their name: Sarah Smith is recording
Two or more shows a count: 2 users are recording
Hover the count on web, or tap it on mobile, to see who they are.
Your own recording is never included. If three of you are recording the same case, you see 2 users are recording.
On web it sits in the widget row, just right of the timer. On mobile it sits at the top of the recording widget card, above the waveform.
It shows whether or not you are recording, so you will still see a colleague start while you are mid-consult. It updates on its own, with no refresh.
The indicator tells you what is happening and nothing more. It never stops you recording and never warns you first. Two people can record the same case at once, and both recordings are saved separately.
If a colleague's app crashes mid-recording, their name can linger after they have stopped. It clears on its own, usually within about 20 minutes. Nothing to do.
Generating Documents
Document generation is now at the top of the Case Page. From here you can generate:
All or individual favorite documents
Your default documents
A template to generate a specific document
Client Summary
After generating a document, you'll also see a Client Summary option. You can use this when you want a client-friendly document that's easier for pet owners to read and follow.
Selecting Several Items in Case Content
When a case has two or more items in Case Content, each item shows a checkbox. Use the checkboxes to generate from, download or delete several recordings, uploads and documents in one go.
Select the checkbox next to each item you want. A selection toolbar appears under the Case Content header and shows how many items you selected, for example 3 selected.
To select every item, use the checkbox at the left of the toolbar (Select all). Use it again to clear the selection.
Choose Generate, Download or Delete in the toolbar.
To leave the selection without doing anything, select the close icon in the toolbar or clear every checkbox.
Action | What happens |
Generate | Opens the template picker and generates from the selected items only. Some items, such as images, can't be used as a source. If none of the selected items can be used, Generate is unavailable and shows None of the selected items can be used to generate. The selection stays in place if you close the picker without generating. |
Download | Downloads the selected items as one ZIP file of PDFs. Selected items that can't be exported as a PDF are skipped. You can download up to 200 items at a time. |
Delete | Asks you to confirm, for example Delete 3 items?, then deletes every selected item. Recordings that are still uploading are skipped and stay selected. Deleted items can't be restored. |
On the mobile app, the selection toolbar takes the place of the action bar at the bottom of the screen while items are selected. While you are recording or typing, the selection toolbar appears under the Case Content header instead. When you clear the selection, the action bar comes back.
Note: Selecting items is not available while you are offline, or on items that have not finished syncing.
Adding Photos to a Record
You can add several photos to a text section of a generated record at once, choosing from images already in the case, uploading new photos from your device, or both.
Open a generated record from Case Content and click in the text section where you want the photos to appear.
In the editor toolbar, select Insert Images. The Add photos to this record? window opens and shows the images already in the case.
Select the photos you want. On the mobile app, tap a photo to select or deselect it. On the web, click a photo to select or deselect it, or hold Shift and click to select a range of photos.
To add new photos, select the Add photos tile to choose files from your device. On the web, you can also drag and drop photos anywhere on the window. New photos are saved to the case and selected automatically.
Select Add photos (N), where N is the number of photos selected.
The photos are added where your cursor was, side by side on the same line, in the order you selected them. Closing the window without confirming adds nothing.
Task | How to do it |
Resize a photo | Hover over the photo on the web, or tap it on the mobile app, then drag the handle in its corner. A label shows the size as you drag, from 20% to 300%. |
Remove a photo | Hover over the photo on the web, or tap it on the mobile app, then select the delete control. The photo is removed straight away, without a confirmation message, and the other photos move to fill the space. |
Tip: Each photo can be up to 25 MB. If some files are larger, CoVet adds the others and shows one message naming the files that were not added.
Photos you add appear in the record's downloaded PDF and Word files in the same order and size as in the editor.
Generating Favorites (Essentials & Unlimited)
If you’re on the Essentials or Unlimited plan, you can generate documents using Favorites.
Use this when:
You regularly send the same set of templates (e.g., discharge instructions + meds + client summary)
You want to generate multiple favorite documents quickly
To use it:
Favorite the templates you use most often
On the Case Page, select Favorites (N) to generate all your favorites at once, or use the arrow beside it to pick one
Support users can generate favorites too, but they generate the case owner’s favorites.
Managing Tasks and Checklists
The previous To-Do area has been reorganized. You’ll now see separate buttons for:
Tasks (includes tasks + billing items)
Checklists
This makes it easier to find the right follow-ups without scrolling through a single combined list.
Making Phone Calls
The phone call icon has been updated visually, but the behavior is the same. Use it anytime you need to initiate or log a call related to the case.
Sharing Feedback or Reporting an Issue
If you spot an issue or want to share feedback, open the Settings menu (gear icon) at the top of the Case Page and select Send feedback.
Including what you clicked and what you expected to happen helps the team respond faster.
