CoVet's Chrome Extension is a flexible bridge between CoVet and browser-based practice management software. Supported PMS connections can read fields from the page and place CoVet content where you mapped it.
If your PMS does not have a supported connection, you can still keep CoVet open in the side panel and copy individual sections into your PMS.
The video above outlines how to use the Google Chrome extension in conjunction with web-based practice management software that does not yet have a specific CoVet integration or connection.
Don't miss the articles below that show how CoVet works seamlessly with specific practice management software:
More integrations coming soon!
Don't see your practice management software on the list above? Visit our integrations page to request an integration - your feedback matters, and will help guide what we work on next.
Chrome Extension or direct PMS integration?
The Chrome Extension and CoVet's direct PMS integrations handle mapping differently.
With the Chrome Extension, you manually choose where each CoVet template section should go in your PMS. Your mappings are then saved for that template and PMS.
With a direct CoVet integration, supported fields are mapped as part of the integration workflow.
The Chrome Extension is always free. Direct PMS integrations may require a paid subscription.
Looking for a direct integration? See PMS Integrations & Connections.
What the Chrome Extension helps you do
Work in one browser window with CoVet open beside your PMS.
Move a full record with Paste All instead of copying every section separately.
Choose where each CoVet template section should go in your PMS.
Reuse saved mappings for that template and PMS on future records.
Use the extension even when a direct CoVet integration is available.
Access PMS-specific shortcuts when available.
Before you start
You will need:
Google Chrome
The CoVet Chrome Extension
Your normal CoVet sign-in
Access to your browser-based PMS
Choose how CoVet appears in Chrome
Click the CoVet extension icon to open CoVet in a side panel beside your PMS.
On selected PMS connections, you may also see a floating CoVet pin that lets you switch between the compact pin and the side panel without leaving the patient record.
Your templates, mapping settings, cases, and paste tools remain available in either view. You can also access cases recorded on another device after signing in.
Availability: The floating pin and other PMS-specific shortcuts are enabled connection by connection, so your screen may look slightly different depending on your PMS.
How to export a record
1. Open your PMS in Chrome
Go to the patient record or consultation page where you want the CoVet content to appear.
On supported pages, the extension can identify the available destination fields.
2. Open the CoVet Extension
Select the CoVet icon and sign in if prompted.
The side panel opens beside your PMS page.
3. Enable your PMS connection
Open Connections in the extension and turn on the PMS you use.
The extension activates its mapped export tools when it recognises a supported page.
4. Open a finished CoVet record
Choose the completed case and review the content before moving it into your PMS.
5. Map the template
The first time you use a template with that PMS, choose the destination field for each CoVet section and save the mapping.
6. Paste the record
Use Paste All to place all mapped sections into their chosen destinations.
You can also paste individual sections when you only need part of the record.
7. Review and save in your PMS
Check that the content landed in the correct fields. Make any final edits, then save the record in your PMS.
How template mapping works
A CoVet template contains sections such as History, Physical Exam, Assessment, and Plan.
Mapping tells the extension which PMS field should receive each section.
Mapping is manual. Choose a destination for each section when you configure the template.
Section names do not need to match. A CoVet section can map to any available PMS destination you choose.
Mappings are saved per template and per PMS. The same CoVet template can use one mapping in ezyVet and another in Animana.
Each new template needs its own mapping. Configure its destinations before using Paste All.
Automatic mapping is not part of the standard Chrome Extension workflow. Review and save the destinations for each template before exporting.
How mapping differs by PMS
The extension determines available destinations in one of three ways:
Connection type | What you see | Examples |
Fixed fields | A fixed list of destination fields built into the connection. You choose where each CoVet section goes. | ezyVet, VetifyPro |
Fields read from the page | The extension shows fields found on your clinic's current record or consultation form. Available options can vary by clinic. | Covetrus Pulse, Animana, Vetspire, Instinct, DaySmart Vet / Vetter, FeedBackVet, ProVet Cloud |
Single or limited destination | Content is sent to one note area or a small set of available destinations. | Radimal, Vetology, Gmvet |
For connections that read fields from the page, open the exact record form you intend to use before configuring your mapping.
Using ezyVet?
ezyVet uses a fixed list of supported destination fields.
See Exporting to ezyVet via CoVet's Google Chrome Extension for the full field list and ezyVet-specific workflow.
If your PMS is not listed
The CoVet Extension can open beside any website.
Automated page reading, field mapping, Paste All, and PMS-specific actions are available on supported PMS pages.
For other browser-based systems, you can still use the CoVet side panel and copy individual sections into your PMS.
If mapped export controls are disabled, the extension may not be able to identify supported destination fields on the page you have open.

Quick tips
Keep the CoVet record and matching patient page open in Chrome.
Enable only the PMS connections your clinic uses.
Map every new template before using Paste All for the first time.
If your PMS form changes, review the mapping before your next export.
Check the transferred record before saving it in your PMS.
Keep the extension updated.
Use Diagnostics when something goes wrong
The Diagnostics area records extension warnings and errors. These details can help CoVet Support investigate a problem.
1. Open Diagnostics
Select the CoVet icon and open Diagnostics.
2. Check for a warning or error
Look for a message recorded around the time the export failed.
3. Share the details with Support
Send the message or a screenshot when you contact CoVet Support.
Troubleshooting
The extension is open, but export tools are disabled
Confirm that you are on a supported patient record or consultation page.
Check that the correct PMS is enabled under Connections.
Refresh the PMS page, then reopen the extension.
Open Diagnostics and share any warning or error with CoVet Support.
Content is going to the wrong field
Open the template mapping and check each destination.
If your connection reads fields from the page, make sure you configured the mapping on the correct PMS form.
Remember that mappings are specific to each template and PMS.
Paste All stopped before finishing
Check your internet connection.
Keep the PMS tab open while the extension processes the sections.
Review which sections transferred before trying again to avoid duplicate text.
Check Diagnostics if the problem happens again.
