You can use CoVet in your preferred language while recording and generating records in different languages. Everything is set up in one place, and it's designed to fit the way real clinics work.
For example, if you are an English-speaking veterinarian working in France, you can use the app in English, speak to your clients in French during a recording, and have your documents generated in French. No extra steps needed.
Your language options
All three of your language options live together on one page.
To find them, go to Settings → Language Preferences.
You'll see three sections, each with its own dropdown and a short description of what it controls. Each dropdown only shows the languages that work for that purpose.
1. App Language
This is the language for the menus, buttons, and navigation throughout the app. Choose the language you'd like to see when you're using CoVet.
Note: If you're setting your languages for the first time and you change your App Language, CoVet will set your Default Recording Language and Default Generation Language to match it automatically.
You can change either of those at any time. If you've already chosen those languages yourself, they won't be touched.
2. Default Recording Language
This is the language CoVet listens for when you start a recording. Set the one you use most often, and you won't have to change it each time.
You can still change the recording language for a single case on the case page whenever you need to. This setting just controls your everyday default.
3. Default Generation Language
This is the language used when your documents are generated. It supports 25+ languages, so you can create records that meet the needs of your clients or your local requirements.
You can still change the generation language for a single case whenever you need to.
4. Country
CoVet uses your country to tailor generated documents to your local context, including regional spelling, formatting, terminology, and country-specific defaults.
You can use CoVet in one language while being based in another country. For example, you might use English as your App Language and generate English documents for a practice based in Canada.
Saving your changes
When you've made your selections, click Save changes. A confirmation banner appears in the top right corner to let you know your change was saved, with a message telling you exactly what changed. For example: "Language saved. Your Default Recording Language has been changed to French."
The banner closes on its own after a few seconds, or you can close it yourself with the X.
What this means for you
You can set up a new working language in one place, without moving between different screens.
You don't need to generate a document and then translate it afterward. Just set your default generation language once.
You can record in one language, work in the app in another, and generate records in a third, all at the same time. This is especially helpful for multilingual clinics and for teams working in non-English markets.
