There are several tools to help you organize your templates so you can quickly find the ones you need.
Organizing Your Templates in CoVet
CoVet offers a flexible template library for generating different document types. Organizing it helps you reach your go-to templates faster, especially through the quick generate buttons. This guide shows you how to favourite, hide, sort, and filter your templates.
Why Organize Your Templates?
Use the quick generate buttons:
The Favorites button generates all of your favourite templates at once.
The Generate Default button generates your single default template. To set one, see How Do I Set a Default Template and Use the Generate Default Button?
Browse efficiently: When you open the full library, you can narrow it down with search, sorting, and filters.
How to Organize Your Templates
We recommend a web browser for easier navigation on a larger screen, but everything below is also available in the mobile app.
Go to the Templates page: Open Templates in CoVet.
Choose a tab: Templates are grouped into three tabs: Record, Summary, and Email. Search, sorting, and filters apply to whichever tab you are on. For the different template types (standard, advanced, and custom), see What Templates Are Currently Available in CoVet?
Favourite or unfavourite templates:
Favourite or unfavourite a template directly from its row in the list.
Favourited templates are the ones the Favorites button creates.
To see only your favourites, open the visibility menu and choose Favorite Templates.
Hide templates you don't use:
Hide a template from its row. Hiding is done one template at a time.
In the visibility menu, choose Visible Templates to remove hidden templates from your list.
Hidden templates are not deleted. When hidden templates match your current search or filters, a note under the list tells you how many are hidden. Choose All Templates in the visibility menu to see them again and unhide them.
The Visibility Menu
One menu controls what is shown, with three options:
All Templates: everything, including hidden templates.
Visible Templates: everything you have not hidden.
Favorite Templates: only your favourites.
Your choice stays selected as you move between the Record, Summary, and Email tabs.
Sorting and Filtering Options
Search: find a template by name.
Sort by: Default order (your custom and shared templates, newest first, followed by the standard templates), Name A to Z, or Name Z to A.
Type: Standard, Advanced, Visual, or Custom. You can pick more than one.
Language: show templates for a specific generation language. Templates that are not tied to a language always stay visible.
Tags: filter by the tags you have added to your templates. You can pick more than one.
Filters combine: a template must match your search, tab, visibility, language, type, and tags to appear. If you pick several types or several tags, a template that matches any of them is shown.
Good to Know
If the Favorites and Default buttons are missing while you record, check the setting that hides them in your app settings.
If a change you made on another device is not showing yet, pull down on the template list to refresh it.
Making a shared template a favourite, or hiding it, only affects your own view. It does not change the template for anyone else.
