Case Activity shows every meaningful action taken on a case, who did it and when. Use Case Activity to see what changed on a shared case without having to ask your team.

Everyone who can see a case can view its Case Activity. Case Activity is read only, and it works the same way on web, iOS and Android.

Opening Case Activity

  1. Open the case.

  2. At the top right of the case page, select the more icon (Settings).

  3. Choose Case Activity from the menu.

Case Activity opens with the newest entries first. More entries load as you scroll, so long cases stay quick to browse.

What Case Activity records

Each Case Activity entry reads as a sentence: the person who acted, what they did, and the item it applies to. The date and time appear on the right, in the date and time format from your profile.

Area

Actions recorded in Case Activity

Case details

Case created, and changes to the case name, assignee, status, team visibility, date or time

Inputs

Recordings started and stopped, and inputs added or edited, such as PDFs, images and notes

Documents

Documents generated, edited or deleted, and export status changed by hand

Case notes

Case notes added or changed

Phone calls

Calls started and ended, with the call duration

Emails

Emails received through the Email Assistant

Case Activity records actions, not views. Opening a case or Case Activity itself does not add an entry. Several quick edits to the same item by the same person appear as one entry.

Seeing what changed

When a case detail changes, such as the status or the assignee, the Case Activity entry shows the old value and the new value side by side.

Entries with extra detail can be opened to see more. Select the entry to expand it. Extra detail includes changes to a value, note text, file size, call duration, email sender and recording length.

Steps that happen automatically after an action, such as a transcript created after a recording, appear inside the entry for that action rather than as separate entries.

Finding an entry in Case Activity

Case Activity groups entries by day, under Today, Yesterday or the weekday and date.

To find a specific entry, type in the search bar at the top of Case Activity. Results filter as you type and match:

  • Names of the people who acted

  • Types of action

  • File names and document titles

  • Status values

  • Note text

  • Dates

Older cases: Case Activity started recording these actions in October 2026. Activity from before then only shows the actions that were recorded at the time, such as archiving, export status changes and deleted content.
