What Sylvester AI Does
Analyses a cat’s facial features from an uploaded photo.
Returns one of three outcomes:
Signs of pain or discomfort detected
No signs of pain or discomfort detected
Unable to analyze photo
Lets you include a Sylvester AI section in the discharge summary with optional QR codes so clients can upload photos at home for ongoing checks.
Turn It On
Go to your CoVet Profile.
Open the Tools section.
Find Sylvester AI and select Enable. It is off by default.
Nothing changes for non‑feline cases. The Sylvester AI option appears only when CoVet detects you are working on a cat.
Timing note: After your first recording on a new feline case, the Sylvester AI button can take 1 to 2 minutes to appear while the case context is analysed.
Use It In a Case
Complete your initial recording and save.
Open the case workspace. Look for the Sylvester AI button in Other > Tools.
Select Upload a photo and choose a clear, front‑facing image of the cat. Ensure to specify the name of the cat in your photo.
Insert the Image Name accordingly
Review the result and document your clinical interpretation in the plan.
If the photo quality is insufficient, you will see Unable to analyze photo. Retake the image and try again.
Sylvester AI Output
If the photo is successfully reviewed by Sylverster AI, you will see one of two options: Signs of pain or discomfort detected or No signs of pain or discomfort detected:
Add Sylvester AI to the Discharge Summary
You can include Sylvester AI in client materials in two ways.
A. With analyzed photos
Generate your discharge summary.
In PDF preview, tick the CoVet Tools: Sylvester AI option.
Results for any uploaded cat photos appear as an appendix, with a brief explanation.
This will include the uploaded picture, the assessment, and the QR code.
B. QR code only
Even if you did not upload a photo during the visit, you can add the Sylvester AI section with a QR code.
When printed, clients scan the QR code at home and upload a photo to the Sylvester AI site for analysis.
This is helpful when the patient is stressed in clinic or time is tight.
Photo Tips for Reliable Analysis
Ensure the photo is in JPEG format
Use a well‑lit, front‑facing image with the entire face visible.
Keep the cat’s ears, eyes, nose, and whisker pads unobstructed.
Avoid strong backlighting, motion blur, and extreme angles.
If the cat is in a carrier, open or remove the front if safe to do so.
Clinical Use and Good Practice
Record your own assessment and plan. Sylvester AI is an assistive tool and does not replace a physical exam or analgesia trial when indicated.
If using the QR code workflow, set a follow‑up plan so results uploaded from home can inform ongoing care.
Keep all findings in your clinical notes and ensure final sign‑off is completed with your personal CoVet account for audit accuracy.
Troubleshooting
Button not showing: Confirm the case species is feline and wait 1 to 2 minutes after the first recording. Refresh the case view.
Repeated “Unable to analyze photo”: Check lighting and framing, then retake the image.
Nothing happens after enabling: Disable then re‑enable Sylvester AI in Profile > Tools, and refresh your browser.
Privacy and Compliance
Photos and outputs become part of the medical record when you include them in the discharge summary or your notes.
Ensure consent is captured per your clinic’s policy before sharing analyses with clients.
