Ensuring that you were able to successfully record is a crucial part of working with CoVet. Here are some tips to ensure that your recording is successful.
Be mindful of your internet connection
If you are in a location with spotty internet, consider using Offline Mode. If you lose wifi mid-recording, you may not be able to recover the full conversation, but it is often stored to your Offline Content if this occurs. Once you have reliable internet, you can generate your record.
Do not attempt to take pictures/videos or take a phone call at the time of your CoVet recording
If you try to take a photo or video, it can pause the recording on CoVet. Please pause the recording, take the photo or video, and then restart recording in CoVet. The same applies for a phone call, it may interrupt the recording and cause issues when trying to generate a record. If a call comes through that you have to take, once you are done with the call, restart the recording and confirm if anything needs to be rerecorded.
Add CoVet as a site to keep active in Chrome
If you are using a laptop or desktop computer with Chrome, you can add Chrome to your list of sites you wish to keep active. Go to your Chrome Settings > Performance > General > "Always keep these sites active" and add app.co.vet. If you do not wish to add this setting, ensure to keep your computer on the recording tab. Moving from tab to tab in your browser could affect the recording.
Check your microphone
If you are using a phone or tablet, the microphone often does a good job of picking up sounds. Ensure that if you are moving around, you bring your device with you or consider using a lapel microphone. Your phone should not be in your pocket, it needs to be accessible to capture the audio. Some desktop computers do not have microphones, so please consider an external microphone if needed. We would recommend creating a test case and listening back to the audio to ensure that it is recording well. Ensure that you can clearly hear the words being spoken so CoVet can make the most accurate records for you.
Record one case at a time
If your account has multiple open cases, ensure to be cautious when jumping from case to case to record. You can go back to a case to add more information later, but if on desktop, try to keep CoVet on just one tab. Keeping accounts separate is also important; if someone else is recording using the same account, that can affect the recording. Please see this article for more details.
Use a voice recording tool if CoVet is down
If the CoVet platform is running into any issues, we recommend using a recording tool on your own device, such as Voice Memo on iOS or Voice Recorder on Android or an external App. This can be uploaded to CoVet once the platform is back up and running.
