Mapping a template tells CoVet where to place each section of your template when it's exported to Animana. Content can be mapped to History, Findings, Diagnosis, or Therapy in the Animana consult.

You can set this up when you first configure the integration. Here are two other ways to map your CoVet templates to Animana at any time.

There are four articles to help you set up and use the Animana integration. Use these links to jump between articles quickly.

How Animana receives your records

A SOAP note in CoVet has four sections: Subjective, Objective, Assessment, and Plan. An Animana consult has four of its own: History, Findings, Diagnosis, and Therapy. CoVet suggests a match for each one, and you can change any of them.

You can also map a section to no section, which exports it to the consult as free text, or exclude it from the export.

From Templates

1. Open the template you want to map

Click Templates in the left-hand navigation bar, then select the template you want to map. For this example, we'll use the Advanced SOAP template.

2. Start PMS mapping from the template screen

On the template screen, find the Preview for Animana button near the top left corner. Click it to start mapping the template.

3. Review the automated mapping

A new window shows how your CoVet template content will map to History, Findings, Diagnosis, and Therapy in Animana.

CoVet suggests a mapping for you. To make changes, click Edit fields.

From a Case

1. Go to a CoVet case

Open a record in one of your cases and select Export to Animana at the top right.

2. Review the template mapping

This screen shows how the record will appear in Animana. If it's not quite right, click Edit fields to adjust how your CoVet template maps across.

3. Edit fields of the template

Select a mapped section to change where it goes: History, Findings, Diagnosis, Therapy, or no section.

Then choose an export option: Exact copy (recommended), Adjusted for PMS, or do not export.

If you choose Adjusted for PMS, you must add AI instructions describing how you want the content prepared for export.

Once you're happy with your changes, select Save.
