As you create content in your linked CoVet cases, such as SOAP notes, clinical summaries, and treatment plans, you can export it back to Animana.
Each export is saved to the correct patient as a consultation, with each section in the Animana field you mapped. This reduces manual work and keeps patient files complete and up to date.
There are four articles to help you set up and use the Animana integration. Use these links to jump between articles quickly.
Setting up the integration
Important to read before exporting documents
Using the integration
1. Navigate to the case you want to export from
Click into the case you want to export to get started.
2. Select and review the document you want to export
In your linked case, find the record you want to export in the case content feed and click to open it. In this example, we're using the SOAP record.
Review the record and make any edits, just as you normally would. Once you're satisfied, proceed to the next step.
3. Export the document to Animana
Click the Export to Animana button at the top right.
Before exporting, keep in mind:
Formatting: Animana only accepts plain text, so formatting such as bold text and headings is removed.
Empty documents are refused: At least one of the four export fields must contain text.
Duplicate exports: Each export creates a new consultation in Animana. Exporting the same document twice will create two separate consultations rather than update the original.
4. Review and finalize your export
A panel opens on the right showing a preview of your record as it will appear in Animana. Click Edit fields if you need to make changes.
Each section lands in the Animana field you mapped: History, Findings, Diagnosis, or Therapy. You can deselect any section you do not want to include in this export. To change your default mapping, see Mapping Templates for the Animana Integration.
Once you're satisfied, click Export to Animana. The record appears in Animana under the correct patient.
Dealing with unlinked cases
If a case was imported from Animana, automatically or manually, it's already linked and you'll see Export to Animana.
If your case isn't linked yet, you'll see a note that the case is Not linked to Animana.
When you click Export to Animana at the top right, the button at the bottom of the preview shows Continue instead. From there you can link your case. You need to link the case before the record can go to Animana.
